Adam, thats a nice grouping but $27,000 is pricey.
It does however have a solid solid provenance, 100%.

Compared to the Generals Lufty visor on The Duck that has been discussed before this is a friggin deal!! You're getting the uniform for FREE!!!! Alex

Beautiful top rate stuff. Nice to see a set like this...price is another matter, but only to those that can't afford it. I spend that much, but in much smaller chunks and not at once so I don't realize how much money I'm blowing.

I hear you Richard - I'm sure a little bit of liquidation could easily fund a set like this.

I'm planning on winning the lottery this Friday so I'll let you know when this set is in hand.

            Hi,

Assumming that all is original to the uniform (I am not saying it is not), note the General tabs which clearly exhibit the vertical embroidery of the gull wings. Many collectors believe all tabs with vertical embroidery on the gull wings are postwar but this would be clear evidence to the contrary.

I was looking back at this grouping and had a question - why would this tunic have a WW2 Era EK2 ribbon through the button hole?

Was it ever a thing to simply use the WW2 ribbon in place of the WW1 ribbon plus spange? Or could it be a collector embellishment?

                He received his EK2 December 26th 1916.

                  Knights Cross

Anybody know where his Knights Cross is? I wonder if the family is keeping or if it's been sold or being sold separately.

                    Agreed, strange, WW2 EK2, WW1 EK1

The General probably just liked the look of the WW2 EK ribbon better

Adam, You do not need to play the lottery, the set is already marked "sold" ...

By the way, usually I also do not like wings on collar tabs with vertical stitching, but in this case they do not look like the respective reproductions around.
