    Excellent

I have one very similar but the lining is a different color. Who is the maker, Hoffmann?

I have one as well, but believe the interior is a lighter color tan. Some had red as well, but have seen those faked.

            Almost the same

            Hi Leeb,
I have a cap that is very similiar in construction, including the tan lining which is marked "Berlin Berlina 41" (don't know if the one you posted is marked). It is also not as faded under the side flaps, generally a good sign when taken in context with the rest of the cap construction. I think this one has the same fading as well. Anyway, I talked with several other collectors about the the latest repro which I believe was stamped made in "Warschau" along with a makers name. If it has the Warschau stamp I would have to question it.

              Hi Lee,

I need to see more of the eagle. Please post a photo of it more flat, if you don't have one ask them to send you another. Good to see the lining the correct color.

Tubbins of Warsaw produced lots of tropical and wool Luftwaffe items. They were a legit maker of quality caps. Yes, some reproductions are marked Warschau also, but it would be unwise to discount a fine original piece just on the mark of a city alone. And by the way, Tubbins is one of the makers that sewed their eagles on in a triangle as this one is sewn, without folding it to follow the curve of the wings in the top center.

              Regards,
              John

Was also thinking it was a Hoffman cap. Just can't tell from the photos for sure. Berolinas are also heavily faked. The style of stamp is the key. Certainly, Luftwaffe trop side caps with a red lining is fake.

                  Luftwaffe Tropical Side Cap

                  Hi

                  Here is further pictures.

The dealer Grenadier Military Antiques, says there is no maker mark.

The rear seam looks a bit strange and I am still not sure about the eagle.

                  Thanks
