    Blue/grey hbt straps

Does anybody have an opinion on these straps. Genuine, repro, fantasy? They came to me on an M44 style oatmeal jacket, but I have no idea of their veracity or the branch of service suggested.

We're in front of a historic enigma!

In the luftwaffe ranking board 'pink' is usually associated to the Ingenieurkorps. That branch would not encompassed private and NCO, but only officer wich lower rank would be Ingenieur (leutnant) and the higher Leitender Chef ingenieur (Generalmajor). Follow this thesis the board posted shouldn't be original...
But there's another way to follow. In the late war the Feldivisionen wore green tabs piped in the appriopriate w/farbe.. pink in this case...

"Uniforms and Traditions of the Luftwaffe, volume 3" says that in the follow farbe was adorned the green felddivision tabs:

    Green- Guard Companies
    Yellow- Recon and Bicycle companies
    Red- Flak and Panzerjager battalions
    Black- Engineer Battalions
    Golden Brown- Signal battalions
light blue- Supply units(included Field Police from 2Apr1943 until 3Jun1943).

    After 03Jun43
    Orange- Field Police

    After 07Jul43
Carminesrot- Veterinary Techs(NCOs and EMs only)

    After 10Jul44
    White- Rifle and Fusilier Regiments.

According to Angolia the Luftwaffe engineering corps would have borrow the colour by the army, and not from the air corps...

    Hope this help!

Pink was also worn by late HG formations; Panzer, Panzerjäger, etc.

To date I have only seen blue HBT straps piped in flight/ FJ. Interesting....

Agreed you can exclude engineering corps because of the low NCO rank...
I vote HG panzer jager related!! Nice and on HBT no less!

I agree. HG Panzer, Panzerjaeger, and Division Staff wore this waffenfarbe.

Gentlemen, thank you all for your kind responses. It appears that these are a little unusual. Does anybody have any concerns over construction, material et cetera?

The first impression is good, but for a terminal decission I'll need better pics, e.g. from the piping.

                All the best,
                Andreas

Better pictures would help ofcours, but I believe they are ok... no worries from my point of view. Nice panzer jaeger straps.

I still like them even though the NCO tress is applied in a sloppy manner.

Nice originals but could you take a couple of pics in natural light? I want to make sure the piping color is correct because if they truly are pink, they are seriously rare. Faded red is another possibility but they need to be photographed in better light.

I was researching a soldbuch a while ago and there was a type'd up note stuck in the soldbuch, saying that the user was authorised to wear Pink Waffen farb and was apart of a Panzer Jager Regiment, this was late 44 if i remember rightly
