Luft jacket, is it an original??

Hey guys so some time ago I posted that I was looking to pick up a small pilots grouping from a friend who owed me some $$ Well its been about 3 months since this arrived and since I got back from the desert and am in need of your far more experienced luftwaffe collector knowledge and eyes. The jacket is old for sure, now is it legit 1940s old or is it 1950s? I don't know enough to say one way or another. This was bought by my friend from the original owners daughter about a year ago. I have sold the guys brockade belt and have the pants that came with this listed on the estand as we speak. There are loops on the right side above the pocket that currently house an original medal bar. It will fit a luft summer style eagle (I have been told as I do not have one to try). The two top zippers are marked RiRi and the main jacket zipper is marked ZIPP and on the back has DRP.NURNBERG. The jacket has a bunch of male snap ends sewn to it with the same thread and there are loops for shoulderboards and the female screw in button ends. There is a little seperation of the leather seam on the left shoulder. There are also two plastic buttons on the underside of the fur collar and a leather loop on the other side to tighten the collar around the neck if it was really cold. The two plastic buttons are not marked at all. The lady that the jacket was bought from did say that her father wore the jacket post war and was a pilot during the battle for Britain. He got into some trouble as he refused to have his crew drop their bomb load on some British church... im looking at the items and not the story. I think the pilots last name was Proske. But regardless I need your opinions on the jacket and its authenticity to being a ww2 jacket. I realize its hard looking at these leather jackets and what not but I know there are some very knowledgeable collectors on the forum with a lot of experience. So please give me some thoughts and opinions. Look forward to all responses. Also the ribbon bar was denaizified and was worn on the jacket for some time. Matt

The under arm portion seems to have some type of cloth there. Maybe to help the jacket breath and cause you not to get too hot?

I don't get whats up with all the male snap ends? Perhaps someone that is in the know can let me know. The liner has signs of wear but doesn't appear to have ever really been messed with other than the additions of all the male snap ends. I plan on selling the jacket so any help would be appreciated. The luft eagle has really great detail, the photos just didn't capture it. Matt

IMHO it is a post war leather jacket.

                  Pierre,

can you give me more specifics on why you feel this way about it? Im just trying to learn as much as I can. This isn't my area by any means so any help would be greatful. Matt

Can only comment on the ribbon bar and it looks original. Shame it has been de-nazified.

                    Kind regards
                    Pierce

                      Matt,
To be more precise for me the leather quality looks poor (like a leather from the 70's) compared to a german WW2 leather. Having RiRi zippers isn't enough as this company was still producing zippers after WW2.
Knitwear under the armpits is absolutely not typical for a german WW2 leather jacket but rather postwar
                      The lining isn't typical period.

                      I hope it helps.

                      Pierre
