Not the best photo, and what I assume is a post war pin, here is one on a reunion banner.

I wish! No, his originals are still with his family. I have assembled a small display where I replicate the pieces he is known to have had: original S&L micro 800 RK, BSW pilot badge, RK marked nightfigher clasp, squadron pin,
farewell message to his squadron (hand signed). The Brilliants are what I believe to be (but could never prove) an original wartime display or exhibition set.

Here is a useful site showing all variations of the NJG unit insignia...

I just realized (based on an e-mail I received) that folks may think I misspelled the name through carelessness. I misspelled it (and put it in quotes) because the material in the display looks like what he really had, but is not really his!

Here is Kg55, stick pin and Jg51 pin back badge. The pin back came from Detleve niemann 18 years ago, has same back as standard party badge, It did have a silver wash on out side edge, but has worn off. Jim/Paul

Cracking JG51 badge! I have been looking for one of those for a while now.......

I will start a new thread on luftwaffe unit pins over on the Luftwaffe War and Qualifications Badge forum, so hopefully we can get more of these shown.

                        pin badge

Hi harry, thanks this one belongs to Paul. It is nice, he got this from derek jones, who at one time collected luftwaffe, photos to jg 51. It was the last thing he had luftwaffe related.
