    Luft Musician Tabs on EStand

Seeking opinions about these boards, currently for sale on the e-stand.

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=388021

Collar tabs for Bandleaders and Music Superintenents are exceedingly rare, obviously. As a collector of TR musician items, I am interested in these. There are some things that cause me concern, however, so I am seeking the opinions of the insignia experts here. While realizing that collar tab insignia can vary widely in certain features, my major concern is that the lyres lack detail IMO. I've not seen any examples that look quite like these. Further, a recent article in the Military Advisor (authored by a forum member) stated that the there was no music corps within the Medical branch of the Luftwaffe.

    Educated opinions?

    Thanks,

    Shawn

I am definitely no expert and am always up for learning something new... however...

From everything I have read, there were no music corps for support units(to include medical medical and administrative personnel).

Some things that bother me about these collar tabs are:

    1. The embroidery method on the gulls
    2. The quality of the badge material.

While I do remember seeing these in the past, I have since learned a great deal more on Luftwaffe collar tabs and especially those for the Musikmeisters.

Based upon the versions I have seen in the past, these do not match up in quality of materials or assembly. I hope that someone can prove me wrong.

As much as I lust after these tabs I must agree with Paul. I will be specific with my concerns and hope someone proves us wrong. I would love to have these if our concerns are shown to be incorrect.

First the wool material, thin is a common theme for repros. The flight or signals set appears to be of the thin type. The cross weaving is consistantly visible front and back and does not appear to be from nap wear or mothing.

Second, the regulations clearly state(Angolia books Luft set) the medical corps did not have a band. In looking at the two pair I think they were made by the same person/shop.

            Hi!

I am sorry for the delay. I am at sea right now and will not be able to receive on a reliable basis for a while.

Can you please post some closeups of the tabs?

            Paul

I still think that they are reproductions. He more than likely still has them.

Did anybody save the images? The listing is obviously long gone.

                    Hi,

I believe these are the tabs in question.
