WTB: LW-Beamte-Sekretar, Waffenmeister, etc Pay Grade Tabs/Boards

    Hello All,
I tried posting in the EE but it wouldn't allow.

I am the Adjutant for Kampfgruppe von Rybus in Colorado. I am looking for a pair of LW-Beamte Sekratar, Waffenmeister, etc Leutnant Paygrade Collar Tabs and Boards. Doesn't matter if they are the silver braided or silver/green tabs. Boards should be the Russia braid with a green base with red in between.

Just need a good, serviceable set.

    Hello,

I would strongly recommend that you get a set of reproduction LW Admin collar tabs for the rank that you would require from Ebay. Get the Lt versions with the silver outer piping. The other two possiblities would not make sense for the impression you are going for(the gold outer piping and broken silver/green outer piping).

The same person who produces the tabs also produces reproduction LW Field Divison shoulder boards. Get a set of those, then get some red gimp cord(small gauge) and insert it between the green underlay of the board and the russian braid. The nebenfarbe layer can be permanently secured in place by placing a VERY THIN line of super glue on the back side of the cord that is to be tucked in. There are plenty of examples of tailor made Admin boards that seem to have been made in this fashion.

I hate to see original insignia destroyed for re-enacting.

    Regards
    Paul

      Paul,
I'm not destroying any insignia. I appreciate the history of even the smallest items.
I couldn't find anybody making reproduction LW Admin insignia. I even looked at trying to modify a set of repro Field Division tabs, but it appeared the base cloth would be marred by the removal of the embroidered gull which won't be covered by the smaller prop device.
I do appreciate your ideas for making a set of boards from repro Jr Off. boards, I'll look into that. Even altering a pair of repro WSS Artillery boards with a green base will work.

Sorry about the misperception. There are repro Admin tabs made on Ebay. You could always try ebay.de as well. I cannot access Ebay now or I would find them for you. I am on a govt (military) computer and am not allowed to go onto Ebay.

These repros are pretty decent too. They would be perfect for what you are trying to do.

Are you talking about the Italian lady, MissMilitaria?

No offense on my end, you don't know me from Adam.

AFter my tours of duty in Berlin, I had everything a Landser would have been issued, Tornister packed to reg, hygiene kit, everything. I had to sell off a lot of it when I bought my first house.

Over the years I became so intimidated by the counterfeit stuff, I completely left collecting. I maintain just enough for our living history activities. Our guys in Grand Junction who built the replica PanzerIIIJ are posting in the Achtung! Panzer! section. We have a really good bunch of guy, my family for the last 14 years.

            Hi,

It is not about "knowing you from Adam" you dont know me either. It is about trying to help. Based upon your signature, I assume that you are a part of a living history organization and are trying to construct a re-enactment uniform.

In your initial post, you stated that you were looking for LW beamte insignia. You did not specify original or reproduction, so I assumed that you were looking for original insignia. Being a collector and amatuer researcher who focuses on the LW Beamte, the thought of original insignia being used in such a manner is mind blowing. As a result, I figured that I would offer you an alternative. That was the motive of my previous posts.

Yep... Miss Militaria was the person I was referring to. She has the insignia I was referring to. I have seen it before. If she does not have it on Ebay at this time, she can get it for you quickly.

I have the opposite story from yours. I started off as a re-enactor. During my deployments in OIF in 2003 and 2004, I found myself with a large pot of cash. Since I was unwed at the time and did not partake in the typical vices, I placed my money into collecting. Upon my return from being over there, the thought of returning to the field for fun did not hold the same appeal.

Regardless, I would love to see your final product when you are done building your tunic!

            Paul

One more thing. If you are wanting to be an Admin Official with an ordnance/weapons specialty, you will want the shoulder boards with the dark green branch color and rose pink nebenfarbe.

MG34Biker, I can assure you Paul was only trying to be helpful and not judge, accuse or belittle. He is truly one of the good guys on here. I too got out of collecting for many years because of all the crap. Welcome back.
