    Pilot Goggle care

I've been talking to a Luftwaffe pilot and he showed me some of his collection from when he was in the war. He still has his goggles in good condition along with the case. He also has a winder measuring instrument. His goggles are getting quite brittle though and he still wants to wear them! Is there anything he can apply to them to make the rubber less brittle?

The Handwindmesser is a kriegsmarine item denoted by the M below the eagle. It is used to record the wind speed

The process started on the goggles unfortunately has no return, all what can be done is to treat it with talcum powder now and then ...
I'm not a fan of applying silicon stuff, but who knows ?
Pity, goggles, straps and can are a nice set..

He said he had it during the war and he was a pilot? Too bad, thanks for the advice though!
