Luftwaffe Tropical Boots 2 Pair ! Interesting!

I want to post some photos of a couple of pairs of Luft tropical tall boots I recently aquired from 2 different sources. One is the standard tan and is in unissued condition (would be perfect except for some missing hobnails). The second pair is in green canvas, is definetly original and has features I have never seen before. First the tan pair. Enjoy

Absolutely fantastic pair !

Concerning the long leather straps....,I think I've seen in most pics that the strap first goes over the flap through the lower eyelet,then goes upwards at the inside of the flap where it comes out the upper eyelet again,just the other way around in fact...,though there are pics where we see this construction..,but I think it's the wrong one... .

Here is the second pair. I could tell right away when I got them that they were original. However, at first, I thought the variations in them to be repairs. Upon closer detailed inspection, they appear to be manufactured this way. Here are the points of interest.
a)sole- not stacked in front as on standard Luft tropical boots.
b)strap/closure system-totally different from the normal style, has a 2 place hook at the bottom, with a metal "slot" for it to fit in. Top has a short strap that closes only the top. All is the same manufacture as the rest of the boot, with no evidence of the standard system being removed.
c)metal stiffening rod is inside the fold-under side, ending in the metal 2 place hook for closing the bottom, no on the fold-over flap side, which is the standard way.

Has anyone ever seen a pair like this? They are not a matching pair, but are different sizes actually. (32 & 29 1/2 marked) They are both 41 dated.

Hi Gerard,

Both pairs are fantastic! This style Luftwaffe boot is repro'ed, but as you say, these are original without any doubt.

What a pairs...... Excellent indeed.....
It could even be that the super green pair came from one person, with two different foot sizes..... You never know, is it a matching pair after all.....
