The Assmann eagle and card board are reproductions IMO.

Yes, they were a so called haul years ago, big dealers had them, complete sheets full of cap eagles, 1st model luft cap eagles, 2nd model luft, luft pith helmet eagles and even stick pins, all Assmann, all the same lousy quality with funny prongs .., in the meantime all are gone and in collections..
They're castings, fully massive, don't think anything like that excisted..

Pith helmet eagles, bad to the bone..

Same with the so called Berlin horde, construction workers found this and that, all eagles, shields, skulls etc, all same lousy quality, errors, prongs from the hobby shop, strange potmetal ... all fake .. and unfortunately most went into collections ..

KaoHsin, why does your eagle has the same red dot covering the swastika, or is that coincidence ?

Jos, thanks for the heads-up on these--I had never heard of these before.
Does anyone have photos of the backs of the eagles themselves (both pith and visor eagles)?

I've found the drooptail and 2nd model, not the pith eagle, but I bet they all have the same back..
                    They've the logo and year stamp, I've found the years 37, 38, 41, 42 and 43.

Staegmeir made them for Years, and they did get always a bit better. Just good that these Morons always make the same Mistake.....over the Top with card board what has no scratch after 80 years...that alone should give everyone a pause when looking at it. You can buy them once every 2 Month at his Auction or straight from his funny Website
