If I collected LW I don't think I would want either the tunic or the hat in the headgear thread in my collection.

Paul, you do well if you don't like it. I don't see anything I want in my collection.

Visor is a Wolfram Deibel special.

I don’t like this uniform either. The DK looks like it might be good, but I’m not an expert on those. Someone with more experience should weigh in there.

That said, that’s the only thing in this entire grouping (visor + tunic) that looks like it might be legitimate. Otherwise it’s a restored uniform with reproduction insignia. I’m not a fan of aspects of the base tunic, either.

I haven't been vocal about these eagle variants on the forums here - only between collector friends offline. I know a lot of collectors seem to like them and own uniforms with them. But over the years I’ve come to the conclusion that they are reproductions. Too many reasons to list here; they deserve a separate thread on their own, really.

Others may disagree but these are now one looker fakes for my money.

Can't make a call on the DKiG, pictures are too far away to see anything.

It appears that way to me, too.

There are aspects of the tunic which are consistent with a period LW officer's tuchrock. However, the basic shape of it just does not seem right (to me). It does not present as a "tailor made" garment.

This is a good example of what is already possible and how good the fakes have become. Here are just a few points how you can see that the jacket is a complete new build:

The loops of the badges, aligned perfect also how they are done plus the wear
The seams on the outside, which are too light
                  Buttons
inner lining of the sleeves, typical for what is used now
                  underside of collar
FJ badge, eagle from the same material as the effects
                  Button holes

DK possible real, can't tell from the Pictures.

For someone who doesn't know much about uniforms, something like that can quickly become very expensive. As always, watch out....ask better a couple questions more when ever you want to buy a Tunic.

An embroided badge is something I would not expect on a general’s tunic

Hello, that’s interesting inner blue lining. It’s similar if not the same lining as found on Luft flight jackets and pants. Best, Bill

Can't confirm the tunic one way or the other, but the collar tabs and the jump badge are certainly poor reproductions. The cloth labels are horrible and seem quite inappropriate for Generals clothing.

The cloth labels are not in the general's tunic, John. Pay attention!
