I would very much appreciate your thoughts on this cap, purchased some time ago here on estand. Of note is the eagle which is flying to the right

Very unusual, any history with the cap? As Mr. Singer says, "I could entertain a doubt." However stranger caps have been proved to be genuine. Perhaps some of Italian members have intel on the manufacturer.

While i don't know enough about construction details on these LW caps, will make a couple general comments. The dirt and wear to the interior of the cap does not look right. It does help conceal the makers stamps. The backward eagle and the 1941 date could be ok ? When was this eagle first used on caps ? Interesting cap for sure.
