LW leather flight jacket opinions

The problem with these private purchase jackets, without a photo of the pilot wearing it it could just be another 40's/50's motorcycle jacket with insignia applied.

Hi,

I enjoy looking at as many period photos of lw clothing as possible, and I have not seen any private purchase leather jackets with a neck fastener attached in use.. (others may have).

This does not not mean they did not exist and used by aircrew, as we know there were many types of private clothing used, but personally I would not buy one that really looks like a bike jacket like this, also the liner is not the type of liner I look for in jackets,

I agree, I prefer to buy a more classic 'Hartmann' jacket with the large pointed collar, zippers on the breast pockets and flaps on the hip pockets.

i agree with Wayne gosley as well, its not jacket id add to my collection it seems far to much like a biker jacket.
