LW Unit Emblem Shield of Legion Condor Veteran

Have come across some items and photo album of a Luftwaffe driver, who had beena member of the Legion Condor. Does anyone recognise the unit marking on the silver ring? It also appears on the mudguard of the truck on the Eastern Front.

this is an emblem Kampfgeschwader-2 'Holzhammer'. Very nice ring
It looks like the photo on his finger is this ring.

He must have been a big man. Size of the ring is huge: Z+8, 15 3/4, 38, 78, in different measurements.

Why doesn't the emblem have a light blue background on the shield? When you look KG2 up, it doesn't have the slanted tricolor.

I can assume that the tricolor on the shield is the Stab/KG2. Each group KG2 also had its own emblem.
And the photo shows the Stab/KG 2 'Holzhammer' bus.
