Quick question about daggers

Hoping this great group can clarify something for me.


Were officers from the various LW flak and field divisions also allowed to wear 2nd model LW daggers? or, was the wearing of daggers only for pilots?

Both allowed. When attached to an actual flying corps, the portapee was used with the dolch.

I'm not sure that I agree with that.

The individual in the wedding photograph is LW admin staff. The fellow with his friends is, of course, an NCO, not a commissioned officer.

It seems that the wearing of the dolch (whether first or second pattern), with or without portepee, was very much dependent upon whether you owned one or not.

Commissioned rank or branch of service seem to have been largely irrelevant.

Just my observation, though.
