LW officer boots - opinions, please

    Hello,

What do you think about these Wehrmacht officer boots?
Are these suitable for a LW officer reconstruction from 1940-1941 ?

    Best Regards,
    Drago

Private made boots are hard to date ...
IMO postwar regarding the flap adjusting system on the back and the leather quality

      Hi Nick,

      Thanks for reply.
The flaps on officers boots were very common during the WW2. I have seen many pictures of officers wearing boots with flaps.
For comparison here is how the flaps looks in an officer boots from 1960s.
The size on the sole was also a common feature of the post war boots.

      Best Regards,
      Dragomir

          Hello,

          Thanks for replies.
How about these ones, do they look like from WW2 period, or postwar?

          Best Regards,
          Drago

Here is a pair i got about 20 years ago they were inside a luftwaffe travel valet, case The dealer sold the uniform and peaked cap, i missed the case , all he had was the boots. They are in near mint condition.

                      Hello Paul,

                      Your boots looks awesome!
Looks like the officer boots, which are the last thing I need for my early war reconstruction, are the harderst to find. Harder even than the officer visor cap, the Fliegerbluse and the Pst 4004 flight boots.
All WH officer tall black boots (except for cavalry ones, my breeshes are for unmounted) should do the thing, but finding the appropriate size, condition and period becomes very difficult.

                      Best Regards,
                      Dragomir

I guess I’m odd man out on this thread. I have obtained boots directly from German families that look just like the pairs posted including buckle shape of first pair. I’ve seen many slight detail differences in wartime boots of this pattern. I agree that this pattern was also made post war and could be hard discern.

This is the official name of the typical non-eletrical heated LW flight boots.
