Dont like it fake eagle, has that spidery stiching to the body, and if you removed it you will find this black type of cloth. Regards Paul.

Certainly agree Paul, exactly what I told the guy who sent the tunic for review. Will post some more photos and would like your thoughts on the tunic itself.

Thanks for checking this thread Gustav. Because I have not been able to attend any large shows in a good while I have not kept up with reproductions. The breast eagle was glaringly bad, but the construction of the tunic was quite good.

Left pocket detail. Forgive the bad lighting, I did not bother to shoot these in the studio but simply shot some quick images by window light on my dining table.

Pocket construction detail, which brings up a personal discussion I would like to have with you going forward.

IMO only buttons are real, jacket and eagle are bad.

                Regards Radek

I agree. Markings, fabric, etc, all fake.

However, certainly better than the fakes which are more commonly enountered, and were made 15+ years ago.

Interesting about using original buttons....they have always been rare.

Genuine tropical buttons, or original buttons with fake tropical paint ?

                        ( ugly eagle , btw )

The size stamps are funny, they indicate that the sleeves are 70 or 71 cm long, that's very long.., besides that the whole thing looks fake.

One last thing if the fakers try to age the tunic and wash it to try and fade it, their is a black backing cloth to that eagle, which is not colour fast, and will stain the tunic black. I know this because I bought an original tunic with similar eagle and some one washed it, and some of the black dye from the eagle leaked. I removed the fake eagle , and replaced with original. The thing was I don't believe the tunic ever had an eagle in the first place, so kind of messed it up. Still nice worn tunic. Paul.
