    Help Identifying Artillery Shell Casing

Measures roughly 8 1/2 inches tall, almost 3 inches diameter at the base. No primer on the base, there is a series of R's around the base and markings on the base itself looks like a small letter K in a circle, G4D and what looks like a little lightening bolt in a circle. No clue on this one, any ideas?

The dimensions correspond to 76mm Russian shrapnel shell.
During World War I, various countries produced ammunition for Russia, including the USA.
