    KM Madsen ammocrate. Questions?

I recently accuired a wooden ammunition crate. Writings on the front reads: 2 cm Patrkst.34 umg fur 2 cm Spgr. Patr. L spur Madsen. There is also a KM stamp in the wood.

What type of ammunition belonged in the crate? Does anyone have pictures? I know there belonged 2 cm shells with tracer in it. But, what is Madsen? Foreign ammunition?

This is the first time I find this type of ammunition crate.

If someone could help me with this that would be great.

Thank you Klarkon for your help. Most informative. Is a crate like this often found? First time I see one.

I hate to say this, are my eyes deceiving me or do the cases that Klarkon has posted look rectangular to anyone else??

Hopefully a trick of the light or its off to the optician for me !

The photograph you posted of the ammunition when you look at the neck the light on the picture makes the cartridge case look square , or it did to me at any rate, which is why I said I might need to see the optician. The age of the ammunition obviously means it cannot be.........although I have seen modern case less ammo in block form, but this was experimental.

                  Just an observation,

                  Regards
