    WW1 German 37x101SR with 3,7cm Lichtspurgranate for 3,7cm Maschinen Flak (3,7 cm “Sockelflak”) or 3,7cm Revolver-kanone .

3,7 cm “Sockelflak”: 37 x 101SR ammunition. This was a short-barrelled gun originally intended for installing on World War 1 airships to defend them against fighters. It was subsequently adapted as a ground-based AA gun, entering service in this role in 1917 and with some 150 surviving to the end of the war, after which some were distributed aboard. The term “Sockelflak” is a generic one simply describing the type of mounting and the purpose, and is also applied to other calibre AA guns of the period. While this Krupp gun used a Maxim-type short-recoil toggle lock action it was not belt-fed, instead having a 10-round magazine feed mounted on top of the gun; the rate of fire was 120 rpm. The weight was 260 kg including the tripod mounting, the barrel at 54 cm was only 14.5 calibres long.
