MK 108 belt link ..

Hi there, folks ..

I've a MK 108 belt link here, it was ground dug and it was in very bad shape, so I fixed it a bit..
To me it looks a bit like a special type, because it has a very large open space, cut out, compared to the other links I've.
Could be a early model ?
I think that this configuration was very weak and that they changed to a smaller open space for more support..

Any ideas or people which have a better example in their collection ?

I've never seen before . . . . . . Gurtlied 108 with such big hole.
