    Brandflasche

    like to show you both versions of the german industrial made Brandflasche. for sure not the best choice as a anti tank weapon, but better than nothing. mostly used on the easter front.....

    here you can see the marking for the small one 1 and the bigger one 2. i know there are fakes out there, but i am sure they don´t have these details...both bottles a still smelling after oil/ petrol and tar.....

      a closer look on the original magnesium igniters....and a view in a transportation box which was found years ago in the Halbe area.....

                      Those are great. They must have been very difficult to find.

                      I wish you had not shown them, now I will have to start searching for a couple to go with my Brandenflasche.

                      Actually Jens I believe this is a mold number. That way the manufacturer could identify issues with a mold if the bottles began to show imperfections or cracks when produced. The Flascheneismine bottles had the same types of numbers (see picture borrowed from another forum).

                            Nice Flascheneismine 42 with a "6" mold number. Not all of the Fl.Es.Mi.42 had mold numbers, maybe just the bottles with the "greenish" hue to them. The one I have in my collection is the clear glass variety, and it does not have a number on it.

                              Which specificities have bottles for Flascheneismine 42 ? The bottle could be a regular bottle for milk or other stuffs.
