Nick, do you have orignal Secunden examples to show? To me, nothing looks correct about that handle, never mind the spelling mistake.

I found these pictures on the GHW forum. The impression is worn but it remarkably does look like " 5 1/2 Secunden" on the handle. To me this handle has true wear and age however, in contrast to the one being discussed here.

In hand I knew it had to be good.

Nice original Model 15,,, the Secunden is correct
so is the font used, this is period to the year.

SEK was used on an abbreviation on most sticks, also must not forget that there were many manufacturers of the handles and cans, so there would be variations .
This is why in 1916/17 it was standardised to the Model 1917 variant, the forerunner to the M24 Model.

Handle is also fine....

I can not take the level of images to convince you, as I already said it's dark wood I believe nicotine stained (naturally) from being on a wall in a pub or club for decades.

I have seen same on walls and pictures....

I did not pay a lot or buy it from a dealer...

I decided to remove the smoke/nicotine staining from the wooden handle with soapy water/white vinegar and alcohol swabs.

Most of it came off and I now feel it's original wood finish is better represented.
