    M1939 Nebelhandgranate

Here is the first of 2 variants of these. Dated 1939. These first models did not have the 3 groves around the handle, which I think came out in 1941. Stick and head match. Interesting to note the head is marked "Nb 39" while most I have seen have been marked "Nb. Hgr. 39".

The vet picked this up from an abandoned 251 half-track in Italy.

    Obviously inert.

Very handsome example Willi, nice score. Hope Robbie sees this and posts his, he has one with the grooves which is equally fine. In my experience these are pretty rare and desirable.

        Nebel varients.

        Hi Gents.

Very nice and as Jens says " Hard to upgrade on" and getting harder to find in any condition these days,

There are 4 variants on the Nebel 39 Hgr.

        Nb
        Nb-39
        Nb-39.Hgr
        Nb-39.Hgr. B

your one seems to have a different method of stenciling, the Nb is fragmented lie a stencil was used and not the usual roll screen printing method. can you post more piccs please ?

        Regards nick

Hi, unfortunately, I have some doubts about the head's inscription.

Stenciled markings look suspicious to me. Just my humble opinion......

I'd really appreciate some additional pictures of the inscription, close-up pics would help a lot.

Thanks for showing and for the follow-up !
