Unknown fuse key

Hello all,

I have onwed this key for many years and have often wondered what it was. It is 16cm long and 7.5cm at its widest. Any ideas?

Doesn't look like for a fuse to me...perhaps for an optic?

Possible, never thought of that to be honest.

When younger I was a clockmaker's apprentice, and my master many tools so specific for the different kind of watches... I've also restored optics, and you also need very specific tools for those. It could just be for any machinery, so if you don't know were it came from, it is almost impossible to know what it was made for.
