    Belgian shell

I bought this piece last year on a small militaria fair. This piece should date from just before ww1. Some people said it was an experimental shell while other said the piece had instructional purpuses. Some people might recognize these photo's from other forums, but maybe somebody here can shed a new light on this.

    The only marking is "R.10".

    Must be for instruction purpose...

The body of the shell is in copper/ messing... so can't be HE nor AP (too soft) IMO

My first tought was that the shell could have been used to train the loading if the cannon, and that the thick piece on the bottem could have been used to remove the shell quick.
