    Charge timer ?

    Hi Guys.

I need a little help here.

I was told this was at timer for a Panzermine, but I do not think it is correct.

Here on WAF I found a tread saying "KM Scuttling charge timer".

    Nicely marked "fph".

I hope someone here can tell me a little more about it

Best regards & thanks for looking

      Thanks Bern.

That is exactly the same device - but sadly it does not say a lot about how it is used and for what it is used.

Used by the navy, I was thinking it could have been used for stranded sea mines like the one below - remove one of the tubes and put in this timer and after some minutes boom - the problem was removed.

      Maybe more info will come

A bit more info here on scuttling charges. A USCG sailor is holding what appears to be a German scuttling charge, similar to the one on Lex's site. Unfortunately, the timing device isn't visible. BTW, a very interesting story relating to a lesser known aspect of the war.
