Ammo Crate ID

Hello all,

I picked this up today. The inside accomodates 6 shells or projectiles or something else round... Divided by a removable board across the middle which I do not have. Any and all insight is greatly appreciated.

I am obsessed... What about this link and the Cr. In the last line.

I would think it is not Cr. but rather Gr. for granate (explosive shell). If it was WGr. it would be a mortar grenade (WerferGranate) but not here. The letter C/xx makes me think it is a Kriegsmarine gun but it is not my area and I can't find it. Perhaps it is a captured gun put in service for the KM...I could always be mistaken, of course.
