    Hi,

Maybe a GewehrBlendgranate 42 with the external part missing ?

    http://lexpev.nl/grenades/europe/ger...granate42.html

Or an other example in that rare family of German rifle grenades ?

    Regards

      German Blendgranate42

      Hi

nice discovery from the "terrain". Not often found as a ground dug item and generally very, very rare.

Bruno is right, it is a German WWII Gewehr Blendgranate42 (glare rifle-gren.) missing its outer jacket/casing !

Here is mine, also damaged at impact or by exploding....

Thank you very much Gentlemen, I was hoping for it to be exactly that. I have been looking for one for years, and even if this one isn't complete, and in a sad state, it is way better than nothing in the wait for a better one :-) It was given to me by a friend yesterday, he found it outside Oslo, Norway back in the 70, and had kept it since he was 14 years old :-) Thank you again for the good news.

              Good
Do you know which kind of fights happened in this area ? Date, German troops involved aso ?
Just to try to know which 'organization' used it. It's told that it was some Waffen SS dedicated ammunition (after 1942).

Hello Bruno :-) I dont think it was any fights in that specific area, most probably just an area used by the German as a training ground during their "stay" here in Norway.

                  OK. Thanks for you reply.
So interesting to know if some Waffen SS troops were camped there.
                  Regards
