    British "Pounder" Equivilent in MM?

My Google and forum searches didn't answer my question, so I will lay my ignorance out in the open here :

The British "Pounder" nomenclature has always confused me. Are the "pounds" simply related to the size of the explosive round, or is it a bore size as well? For example, can the same gun fire a 13 pounder and a 15 pounder? If a bore size, is there a pounder-to-millimeter table to help me compare rough equivalencies of artillery?

    Thanks!

I left England when I was six and never got to know the measurement system well, but now (I'm 52) I'd be totally lost. Stones, gallons, feet and yards...

I always understood that the term 'pounder' is related to the weight of the breech block.
