    Dummy grenade?

    Hi guys

I picked this up and just wanted to check that it is ok as outside of my usual field. All the parts look ok- is it a legit dummy grenade?

    Many thanks for your help

Hi, it's a German M24 Stielhandranate ( M24 Stick grenade) for practice,, the handle is from a normal combat M24 as the handle is marked Ub and has red top collar, here are a few for reference.

            Training Stick Grenade

            Hi,
Nick has a smoke grenade on his top shelf - you can see the "Nb" for Nebel stencilled on the side.
They are green as per the normal M24 Stick Grenade with a circle of holes on the underside of the head.
For recognition they have a white stripe on the handle with a pair of grooves turned in the wood near the screw-cap so you know what to throw at your enemy after dark!
            Good hunting,
            Grossfuss

Hi Patrick, your welcome and thank you, They used a small Black powder charge as a spotting signal to locate where it landed and give it some real sense of being realism. The delay fuse was the same but some times a Sp Nr8 would be used,, this would force the top of the steel can to push upwards with the force of the det exploding.

                  Hi Patrick

It has to be written from a reverse side - U b on a stick

                  regards Dimitry

                      Training grenade

                      Hi Patrick,
Nick has answered this above - live handle + training head.

                      Hi Nick,
I'm glad you posted the pics of the Uebungsladung - is there a thread on the other side which enables it to be screwed on top of the pullfuse?
Got an odd one you no longer need?

                      Regards,
                      Grossfuss
