    mortar part ? - item for id

    Hi guys

    Looking forward to id this part ( grw 34 ? ) . Barrel protection ? field support ?
    Ground dug some years ago at Oder river area . Weight : approx . 1,5 kg , diameter 15 cm .

              Hi
              This is the base plate for mountain use for the French Brandt 81 mm mortar , both the 81mm Brandt mortar and these base plates were used by both The German army and Waffen ss though. A few of these have turned up in the last few years ground recovered in Russia. I have photos of it in use and close up's of the French arsenal markings if anyone would like to post them up on here for me.
