    Mine A-200

    Hello

Here comes my A-200 mine. The DZ35 fuse was recently found by me during excavations. You will see both photos (before and after restoration). But restoration is not completly finished. I only used WD40 and steel wool 000.

Thanks ! I don't know if I have to continue the cleaning ? I am afraid to remove the paint. I like it in that condition.

            Hello.

IMo, stop to clean it. It's a risk to destroy the painted, or to polish ( who show a hard rubbing) it.

I think that for cleaning steel painted items oxalic acid is better.

A200 mines were used in Normandy front. A guy found one during excavations.

I agree this is not a good method for cleaning.

I know I could have some best results with oxalic acid but there is always a risk with that method. WD40 with steel wool is less agressive but I agree the cleaning can't be optimal.

Nice item you have there. I didn't know that kind of mine.
I have tried oxalic acid but I prefer vinegar. Oxalic acid leaves too many residues and a strange colour.
