US made German mine training sets

    US made German mine training sets

    Hello All was wondering if any of the members have a set of the US made German mine training sets in their collections that they could post pic's of.
    I have seen the Japanese sets complete but only seen the odd teller mine from the German sets

    Unfortunately, I can't find the photos of the set I sold on eBay 10 or 12 years ago. They are not packed with the elaborate wooden crate of the Japanese set, just a simple cardboard box that holds three different mines and dummy fuzes.

    I only saw a quantity of them in a surplus store on one occasion, near Salt Lake City, Utah, about 30 years ago. They had hundreds of them scattered around their yard with most of the cartons decomposing in the weather. A few were nice but I obviously should have picked up more than one set.

        This is the cardboard box for the three versions of the German mine produced by the U.S. for training during WWII. The red corner markings (triangles) plus the "E" denote use by the Engineer Corps for packaging of material for overseas shipment. This cardboard box was produced in 1944.
