    Gun works nicely,if properly kept all these years...but one thing i wonder: Where do they get working(safe) rounds for it?

      Unbelievable! Just sad it is used by these morons.

      I know a whole bunch of MP44's turned up over there some time ago. Also then getting the ammo was the problem.

        @Jussi: looks like they are firing 105 mm M14B1 cases, so they must have changed the chamber.
        Ammunition for the M2 howitser is still widely available, they are probably using those.

        I would like to know what those gascilinders are doing there.

          Perhaps it is a promotional vid, the gun doesn't really work and the gas cilinders simulate it working, to call atention of collectors and try to make them join their army.

            In the article they write that they also found 5000 Stgw 44 in Syria. If you click the link and scroll down you can see a video of all those Stgw´s

              I thought that those Stg44's were found in Libya during the civil war?
              I'm collecting anything related to the towns Castricum and Bakkum during WWII.
              Also soldbucher from 116pzdiv. And 1944-1945 eastfront pockets, kampfgruppe and Oder front.

                    Has me wondering, if you gathered together all the ex-Heer servicable weapons and equipment still around, what size and type of unit could you put together?
                    Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

                      On the gas cylinder visible in the foreground, could it be an inert gas used to charge the recoil mechanism of the gun? I'm not an ordnance specialist, but do know that some collectors here in the U.S. live fire vintage artillery; I have observed their on-line posts and discussions about artillery recoil mechanisms and seem to remember that some such mechanisms are charged with inert gas.

                      Just a thought to consider.
