Bakelite Zünderbüchse boxes

Hello all,

I'm completely new when it comes to fuze boxes so I would like to know if there's info somewhere on which different fuze boxes the Wehrmacht used? I searched the WAF and the net but didn't got the results I wanted. Reason is I got this Zünderbüchse 2L in yesterday and it was interesting in such a way to me that I wanna see which different ones there are (which in the end will help me to collect more of these nice bakelite items).

You haven't supplied a picture but the item you have is a fuze container for a 12cm Mortar fuze.

This is mine, 41 dated maker jng (Trolitan-Preßwerk Ernst Meyer).



I have also seen boxes with the numbers 1 and 3 so I started to wonder what other kind of fuze boxes were used. Would be nice to have a complete overview of all the different types but I couldn't find this anywhere online and neither can this be found in any of my books.

Hi Marcel,

Those marked with 1 or 3 are probably fuze containers for 75mm & 88mm shells. There are a whole plethora of Bakelite boxes etc for ordnance fuzes as well as radio spares etc. Needless to say these are of interest to collectors of Bakelite items as much as those of militaria.

The container in the photo is used for the standard Luftwaffe bomb fuzes..........type 15, 25, 28, 35, 38.......and so on. There was also a longer variation that was used to house the type 17 fuzes.
