    Concrete bomb or what?

I have here an item that is made from concrete. It looks as a bomb or a mortargranate. Who can help me out to determine what this thing is?

    Thanks!

          Hi Francois,

I took the measurements of the projectile. The length is 29 cm and the diameter is 30 cm on the widest part. That is where you can see a sort of "ring" going around. Most likely there was a tail attached, but broke off.

          Strange looking object.

It would seem that there is a mark where a drive band would be (are mortars rifled) and a tapered section at the rear where fins might have been. There again it could be a weight for a large fisherman's trawling net. It would help if you knew where it came from and what you were told it was.

Could be a projectile of some sort, but not a bomb (no exolosive filling). Strange thing, i know of concrete mines, grenades; but mortars?

Here's something similar described as a stock mine.

                  Stock mines are another thing.
Many types of concrete bombs were used for training pourpose by Italian and German air forces. I don't know if other air forces used similar bombs.

Could you check your measuremebt if the diameter please ?
it looks much longer than it is wide.

                    regards Kev
