    Normandy Mortar Round ID?

We found this unexploded mortar round laying in a freshly plowed field near "Kraut Korner" in Normandy last week. The mortar round was left there. What kind of mortar round is it?

I do not think this is a mortar round. It looks more on a round for a Panzerschreck.

Size looks very small if compared to grass in picture.

Could be something else than projectile.

Won't it be some kind of hartkern projectile?

          Doesn't look right for a RPzB54

I'm stumped...i've checked almost all the possible anti-tank and mortar projectiles and cannot ID it...Im going to guess panzerfaust 30 klein or panzerfaust 150 projectile...

                  Hello,

I agree with Jens, it is not a mortar round for sure.

A hard-core projectile is most probable, here is a pic of a German one,
could be this. Missing the rear part.......

Or a British one, like one on the 2nd or 3rd picture.

                        Hi,

comparing it to the size of your hand, I go for the 6pdr/57mm one.
But, unfortunately, the dimensions are different in length.

I continue to research on this, I´m not yet convinced or satisfied with "my" result.......
