Forum Members, I have an opportunity to purchase a WW2 shell casing for a 76mm us round I just obtained......The fly in the ointment is, it is located on the other side of the ocean.....My question is, what are the laws concerning having a brass shell casing shipped into the US?.....I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but would like to get other opinions before I proceed.....Any information appreciated as usual.....Bodes

It is possible but: someone wanted to buy a case I had, a while back. I decided to ask the BATF. They gave me a reference of the form the purchaser in the USA had to fill in and submit prior to importing the item (triplicated). I mentioned it to that person...and he decided not to buy

This is the message I got from the BAFT in 2011:
"Inform the U.S. residents they must complete and submit Form 6/5330.3A in triplicate to this office for approval to import the items mentioned as long as they are for their personal use and not for resale. To import for resale, the must be registered with this office/ATF. They may download the Form 5440.3A at www.atf.gov
If they need further information, they can call 304-616-4550."
