Training grenade? For the USMC? Huh?

Maybe this should be in the US forum, but I could not decide. If its in the wrong pace, sorry!

I got this in a pile of other stuff a few weeks back, and havent given it any thought, until now.
Its a VERY obvious fake "German" grenade, with a USMC EOD sticker from Camp Pendleton,California. The wooden handle way shorter than an original, and the "grenade" is solid metal (aluminum?)

The other stuff I got in the grouping was all WW2 and prior USMC stuff,so Im wondering if this might be a USMC dummy training grenade for whatever reason?
Im completely at a loss on this thing.

I dont know why the Marines would need something like this, especially not after WW2,so I think if anything, its likely from the period.
    Maybe?

I concur... it's not a German M24 at all. It's a Vietnamese type 67. Nice item considering the provenance.

I was completely unaware that the Chinese/Vietnamese/Koreans used a grenade like this. I love this forum for everything I learn everyday
            thanks guys!

MCAS stands for Marine Corps Air Station, but I'm not aware of any name Campen. It must be short for Camp Pendelton.
