1937 German Artillery Round

Hello,

I recently picked up this 1937 German Artillery round in it's original cardboard holder. I have no knowledge in this area and would appreciate any feedback about this. I have no idea what it is.

My only observation is how nicely marked this thing is all over though it seems like a lot of work for something you're just going to shoot. But I guess that meticulous craftsmanship is why we all collect these days.

Yes, these cannon rounds are nice and especially because of the extensive markings.

Yes, that's a very nice one. Could also be used on Pzkpfw II and wheeled vehicles as the SdKfz222 (and other) that used the Kwk30 (ground to ground version of the FlaK 30)

For some weird reason,these prewar examples come useally in very good condition and in bigger quantities if compared to late war examples.I guess they were simply made better before war.

I also wonder how prewar examples are even possible to exist anymore.Germans didnt use old ammo stocks before made newer ones.Sounds weird.

Could they be not from stocks in Spain, for example? I found quite some Flak 30 mags in very good condition...if dated before 1940?

Yea,Spain is one possible source.

I know one big cache which was found from Austria.Some 40 boxes full of 2x mags and mags were full of 1938 HE-T rounds.Some of the boxes were under water,but rounds inside were still like new.

I only bought 5 boxes with their empty mags....but there were much more than 40 were I got mine.

Sounds great.But amounts like that is not great for the people who bought their set with high money.

1937 Artillery Round

I know it's been a while since I posted this. To me, and this outside my collection interest, but this artillery round appears to be inactivated. The primer is punched out, and obviousty it is disassembled. However, I have a potential buyer that wants to be reassured that this is deactivated?

I would like any opinions/observations? All I can tell is the "gold" tip does shake a bit , but I'm not able to remove it from the tip, but otherwise this appears to be deacivated?
