      Seashells.

Yikes, Now that's what hunting for Seashells is like in Nordland?
I'm lucky to find a cracked and beaten up Conch on a Good Day.
      Thanks for the pix.

Nice looking items (some of which appear to be in pretty good condition). Any chance that any of these ordnance items will be rendered inert and end up on the collectors' market, or is everything destined to be destroyed by EOD?

It is too bad that none of these historic items are rendered inert and preserved. In particular, the large aircraft bomb appears to be in excellent condition and has not been dropped. Hence, it is probably minus the fuze assembly and was just pushed into a hole and covered over post-war. If rendered inert, it would make for a very nice addition to a museum's display of WWII German aircraft. This type of large WWII German ordnance is very rarely encountered in collections (public or private) here in the U.S.

All of this said, however, it is too easy for me to sit here safely behind my computer keyboard and talk about someone else putting their life at risk to render these items inert, so I can appreciate why EOD simply blows everything . . . the old days of "disarming" bombs seem to be over!

This reminds me of a video of a metal detector (I forget where) that found 6 unused panzerfrausts still loaded in great shape. They got destroyed just like these explosives here....

Some sweet looking Naval ordnance in first pic.Projectiles have kept their colors nicely.

Impossible to destroy them all with explosives.

I have seen same size piles of WW2 ordnance detonated and specially the smaller ordnance(20-37mm) 6 out of 8 projectiles will be destroyed in explosion.2 projectiles will survive and useally fly away from explosion pit.

A friend of mine had a friend in Lleida (Catalonia), where the front (Spanish Civil War) was about ends of 1938 beginnings of 1939. The guy collected all kind of ordenance he found around the fields. He used to emty them in his garage. One day his parents got back home and couldn't find him...till they went to the garage
