German Anti-Personnel Mine ? opinion please

It looks like a classic snow ski mine. Often used laid in ski tracks.
I believe this type was also made in Norway / Finland after the war.

I did a search online and this is what I found :
Powerful Antipersonnel Schü-mine 42 , the Schü-mine was encased in wood which made it very difficult to detect.

I would probably disagree. We can see a lot of items from WWII in good and perfect condition. For me the wood condition is very believable for the WWII period. Old nails, dry wood.......

Your wood it's too fresh and too clean and white.

sunlight, and just time make sufrace darkner - only inside it schould be light.

Germans made this mine from various materials.But somehow this mine looks too "shiny" to be period one.

Howdy Andrei, I would check out some websites like IMA.com as they have been manufacturing reproductions of WWII German and Japanese Mines and similar ordnance for some years. As I recall seeing this and others (Bouncing Betty's , Shoe Mines, Glass Mines, etc.) recently there.

Hi,

very difficult to say for sure if it a good one or not !

The wooden mines were often copied in the past as a good
carpenter with some skills and an original in hand, could easily
make these without visible differences.

Something is suspicious though on your specimen:

the ink stamp !! Markings on wood were, (if present !) stamped into
the wood, a German particularity.

But keep it well, you never know for sure !!
