Did the 5cm granatwerfer use a Winkelmesser 35?

Hello. I was wondering if anybody knows if the 5cm granatwerfer use a Winkelmesser 35. Pictures of one using one? Thanks James

No. No mentioning of the WM35 in any of the 5 cm manuals. The WM35 was used as an auxiliary height measuring device for larger guns if the built in water levels "gave up". In theory it could have been used on any weapon in case the built in water level gave up, but it would be rather difficult to shoot a mortar with any degree of accuracy without the original level(s) intact. And for the 5 cm that would be meaningless anyway due to low accuracy and short range of the weapon.

It did have a short range. One complaints about that mortar was that it was too accurate.
