    Original Handgranaten?

    Esteemed Colleagues,

Came into possession of what I believe to be original stiehl and eier handgranaten. Complete with maker codes, high quality machining of fuse threads and what appears to be appropriate aging. I would appreciate the input and feedback from this forum to either confirm or deny the authenticity of these items. Approximate value would be appreciated as well.

Please see attached picts for details. If you require additional info please reply to post for benefit for all.

Like Bill said...they both look ok.

      Great find.

Let me know if you ever want to let them go.

Thanks Gents. I was pretty confident with these but wanted to be sure.

I think the M43 is repainted, it looks to have new paint over old paint?? Im basing my observation on grenades I own and have handled, paint has normally been a nice soothe finish so please correct me if I am wrong.

my thoughts too the egg grenade looks like a nice one but the M43 is repainted with bogus stamps the WaA is stamped twice one upside down and the other stamp is fond stamped on a panzerfaust head never seen it on a stick grenade

              yup

The egg doesn't look cracked and looks good to me also.
The sticker does look good but I'm kind of with the others that it may
have been messed with. Regardless it's a great pickup you got and my
hats off to you and your new ordnance.

                Danke

Thanks for the great feedback and insight into the details. Too bad the M43 has been tampered, I guess way back when someone thought it would enhance an otherwise rusty grenade and restore some lustre. I imagine there is nothing that can be done to remove the overpaint?

You could carefully strip the overpaint with acetone and cotton buds.It looks fine how it is but if you wanted to strip it is a matter of personal choice. It looks like there is some original paint underneath.
                    Any M43 is a good find ;-)
