    M61 75mm round value

Forum Members, I may have an opportunity to purchase an M61 75mm projectile with shell casing......The warhead is a HE/APC-T round.....It's marked M61 and dated 1943 on the copper band, and appears to have it's original green paint.....Almost 100%......No stenciling any where....Shell casing is dated 1944.....

As I don't run across complete one of these very often, I'm not up to date on value.....What's the going rate?....Any ideas welcome as usual.....Bodes

Original color is always worth more.I dont know much about US ordnance prices so i cannot tell about your round.

In german ordnance items, difference of original paint and repaint can add value twice or even more.

Jiipee76, Thanks for your reply......I guess I was thinking the same thing.....Not only does this one have it's original paint, but the shell casing hasn't been shined up.....Has it's patina.......

The reason I'm wondering is because I don't remember seeing many complete Sherman tank 75mm rounds.....And most of the ones I'm seeing on the internet, have been reworked.....Bodes

What is the asking price? A few years ago back in te heyday of selling inert ord on eBay I sold my repainted round for over $700!

Don't think they are hitting that high now, but if I could pick up a complete round for $300 or under I would jump on it, especialli with original paint.
