WWII US 75mm AP Round Restoration

While I normally don't "restore" artifiacts [I leave as I have found them] I'm interested in restoring this round. I found the projectile in a antique store and it was painted gold (which I obviously stripped off). Underneath the windscreen I found a note which stated it was made at the Chamberlain Plant, Waterloo, Iowa. I would like to repaint the markings on the projectile and case. Has anyone done this before? If so, what would be a good paint {brand}? Anyone familar with making a stencil using MS Word? What would be the correct font and letter size? Thanks!

I have an original with great paint and markings. I'll try to shoot some pics tonight. I have had very good results using 3M sticky backed A4 printer paper to make stencils for ordnance.

Nice yard. The only thing missing is kids in the playground.

Christ, talk about large pictures. Originaly these shells were rolled over a rubber stamp not stencilled. Its in the TM manual Ammunition Renovation TM 9-1905 September 1948, a very good read.

I'm still figuring out the features on a new digital camera. Glad ya'll liked the pictures. I knew they would draw some attention. The swing set is on the right but I couldn't get it in the shot.
