                Hi Freudendal!

The yellow stripe was used by the Danish, after the war to indicate live ammo. The number 24 is post-war Danish markings to (indicate model 24, who is German model indication) Not widely used in Danmark the German M24, but the Danish army used the remaining stock of M24 Stielhandgranate that was from the war during the time of 1950-60`s
Old Police men in Danmark would remember this as well,- the information above is given to me from a old Danish inspector from Aalborg.
What I have put a question to is why the Danish used yellow, while other countries used red lines and primers to indicate live ammo, and yellow was used on instruction pieces and deactived pieces. Of this reason I guess that the old police inspector have mixed up the colors and the yellow stripe indicate deactived piece for instruction use only (maybe why he remember the yellow stripe so well)

                Regards

                Carl
