Looks like the 10 cm. NbW 35/40 and other Mortars used the same container later in the war, probably to reduce the amount of different packings, however the D. 435/1 "Handbuch - die Munition der deutsche Werfer und Geschütze" from december 1941/april 1943 shows different containers for these.
Was there an "Auflegeklotz" = a cylindrical piece of metal grid that the the tip of the projectile can rest on, in the container?
