    Fire Control Instrument???

    Anyone know what this is or used for?

    Post it in the firearms, and the optics part of the forum and I guess that you will get an answer. I know it as an instrument to measure the width of rivers etc, it is also mentioned in the MG book written by Myrvang ;

      It's a messdreieck used for calculating indirect fire when using the mg34 from the lafette tripod. Probably worth $400 or so.

          Yes that is what they are called. They were un use in the norwegian army up to the 1980, and there it was used for measuring the width of rivers etc. I would not sell this for $ 400 :-) I have seen others sell for $ 600- 800 (minus the carrying strap on the case). And the cloth strap on the case sell for $ 300 alone. I would not have sold this set for under $ 1000. Just my 2 cents.
